I photographed Ava and her mother Lauren on beautiful Mackinac Island among the hedges and smoke bushes that line the Annex. I often walk this part of the island during visits. It’s a step back in time as the pavement ends and great hedges line the yards of old homes. This photo shoot was special because Ava’s mother joined her in some of the shots, creating a connection that is visible in the sweet photos that came of it.
